This Is LMSUK: Our People, Our Mission, Our Movement

We started LMSUK with one mission: to give independent artists a real shot at success.

The clue is in the name — Local Music Scene. From the beginning, our purpose has been rooted in one thing: helping local artists get seen, supported, and celebrated.

Our Story So Far

LMSUK began over nine years ago as a passion project — writing music blogs, putting on grassroots shows, and working closely with emerging talent. As we collaborated with promoters and venues across the country, we hosted hundreds of live events designed to give local artists the spotlight they deserved.

When COVID hit, everything changed — as it did for so many in the industry. We took a step back from events and leaned into what we do best: getting artists seen online. We expanded our services, sharpened our strategies, and started building brands for artists that unlock real music opportunities.

But we didn’t stop there.

From Local Gigs to Recfest

Four years ago, we wanted to give even more back to the scene that built us. So we launched Recfest — a family-friendly, new music and sports festival hosted every May in collaboration with SuperStar Sports.

Recfest is all about community and discovery — combining music, sport, food, and family fun in one action-packed day. And at its heart: showcasing the very best up-and-coming local talent.

Our People & Purpose

At LMSUK, we’re powered by a brilliant team of over 30 staff — including directors, social media managers, A+R specialists, graphic designers and HR. Every member of our team plays a vital role in pushing our mission forward.

We don’t overcommit. Our services are intentionally exclusive. We operate a waitlist to ensure every artist is matched with the right team, people who understand and love their style of music — and are confident they can deliver results.

Enter the BackStagePass

Over time, the demand to work with LMSUK grew — and so did the waitlist. That’s why in 2024 we launched the BackStagePass: a DIY music manager in your pocket.

Packed with resources, applications, submissions, industry tips, discounts, and new tools added daily, the BackStagePass quickly became a service of its own. It now supports artists who want to take the first step into LMSUK or prefer a self-managed growth approach.

Whether you’re seeking a hands-on team or the freedom of DIY, we now offer services to support artists at every stage.

What We Are Today

LMSUK has grown into something much bigger than a music agency. It’s a movement.

We’re:

  • Helping artists get seen through tailored social media strategies
  • Running a festival (Recfest) and supporting events across the UK
  • Hosting networking nights, spotlighting artists, and collaborating with major press and radio
  • Covering major festivals like the Isle of Wight Festival
  • And building an ecosystem that gives independent artists the tools, team, and opportunities they need to thrive

This is what we do.
This is who we are.

We help artists get heard — and we’re proud to do it with passion, purpose, and community at the core.

Because music matters. And it deserves to be heard.
